Daniel McKeone
M.D.

Caring for sick children is a privilege and calling. I am a pediatric hematologist/oncologist with a focus on the care of children, adolescents, and young adults with leukemia, histiocyte disorders, and genetic predispositions to cancer.
Chemotherapy remains the backbone of most cancer-directed treatements as well as an important therapeutic modality for patients with immune dysregulations like HLH. In the era of precision medicine, my hope is to shift away from conventional chemotherapeutic approaches in favor of targeted therapies. I believes in a future where children with HLH can receive precise, effective treatments that offer the best chance at cure while preserving their overall health and quality of life.
In my free time, I enjoy cooking as well as outdoor activities such as hiking, crabbing and fishing with my two daughters. Pittsburgh proud, Penn State loud — I cheer black & gold all week, and blue & white on Saturdays!
